Hi Everyone, Let's Talk.
If you are anything like me, all of your social media has been overtaken by Taylor Swift's new tour. However this tour is more than just a concert; according to sources like Forbes, People, and CBC, The Eras Tour could generate around an estimated $5 billion dollars for the U.S. Economy.
It's no surprise that this tour is the most sought after event of the year, with sold out stadiums, hotels, and restaurants. A QuestionPro survey concluded that fans have coughed up over $1,300 on average for tickets, travel and elaborate outfits for Swift's concerts this year. About 2.5 million tickets were sold on the first day of pre-sale tickets alone, with at least some fans paying as much as $42,000 on the resale market, the Daily Mail reported.
However, tickets aren't the only thing creating mass revenue; other industries including the fashion, restaurant, and hotel industries have boomed as well. Taylors fanbase nicknamed, "Swifties", have spent hundreds of dollars on themed outfits, merchandise, and restaurants, and, thousands on hotels and rental homes.
When all tours are said and done, Forbes reports that Swift could net anywhere from $500 million and $1.5 billion.
Next time you see an article, post, or story about The Eras Tour, remember the huge economic benefits it has on the economy!

I read the post about The Eras Tour (Economy Version), and it talks about how Taylor Swift’s concerts are doing more than just selling tickets; they’re boosting hotels, restaurants, and shops because fans spend so much around the shows. I remember last term when I had to take my online English communication exam on a day I felt really tired, and I took small breaks to think about fun things like concerts so I could stay focused. This made me think that big events can have a wide impact beyond just music.
